PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

The chamber sponsors a variety of educational seminars and workshops designed to help businesses deal with the business issues of the day ranging from marketing, human resources, workforce, finance, to name a few. These programs are offered in 1 ½ hour sessions, half or full-day sessions or in a multi-week series format. Most of the program content is delivered by business members, and/or UWO & FVTC faculty. Project management series

This series is for participants who want to become better at managing projects. Through a combination of lecture and facilitated group workshop attendees will leave with tools and techniques they can apply. Offered in Spring and taught by Andy Miller is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where he teaches Introductory and Advanced Project Management classes as well as quantitative analysis.

In addition, upon completion of this series participants will earn 8 hours towards certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI). PMI requires a total of 35 hours for this certification.

HR briefings

These briefings offered by the Oshkosh Chamber and von Briesen and Roper, s.c. cover labor and employment law topics. von Briesen & Roper, s.c. is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. This Breakfast Briefing is valid for one (1) PDC for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM.

Economic Outlook breakfast

What’s in store for the economy? That’s the question economist Brian Beaulieu will answer when he speaks our yearly Economic Outlook Breakfast sponsored by Ganther Construction | Architecture. Beaulieu will review what happened this year and provide his economic outlook for the future, along with advice to individuals and business owners. This event is the second Tuesday in February.

Social Hub Workshop Series

With the ever-changing world of social media and technology, how can you keep your business up to speed? Attend our monthly Social Hubs. These are offered in Spring and Fall and cover social media, mobile, video, website, marketing, and other similar topics. Current and past presenters include Stellar Blue Technologies, Candeo Creative, BConnected LLC, Quill Creative and Lamar Advertising. We encourage you to bring your laptop or tablet to this free interactive workshop. Feel free to bring up your company’s website and ask questions.

Leading from the top

Leading from the Top is a series of interactive workshops targeting top executives and functional leaders. These briefings focus on issues impacting leaders with accountability for enterprise performance. Join your peers in increasing your leadership performance in leading people and delivering outcomes.

Presented by the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Differentiating Strategies, LLC these moderated workshops will provide participants with one to three ideas they can immediately apply to improve their executive performance.
