Middle School Manufacturing Month Tours
In celebration of October being Wisconsin Manufacturing Month, eighth grade students enrolled in a technical education course from all five OASD Middle Schools had the opportunity to tour a local manufacturing facility and learn about careers in manufacturing within Oshkosh. Thank you to all the employers and students who participated in this year’s 2019 Middle School Manufacturing Tours.
In addition, a manufacturing careers essay contest concludes the month of tours with one winner selected from each of the middle schools. Winners read their essays at a lunch sponsored by the Oshkosh Downtown Rotary and attended by their parents, teachers, participating employers and OASD administrative staff.
These events highlight the importance manufacturing plays in our economy and showcases the variety of careers available within this segment.
High School Manufacturing Month Tours
In celebration of October being Wisconsin Manufacturing Month, high school students in the Oshkosh Area School District and Winneconne enrolled in manufacturing technical education courses spend a day touring a local manufacturer and Fox Valley Technical College Advanced Manufacturing Center and the Spanbauer Center to learn about careers and programs available after college in manufacturing.
