Are you working on the right things? For the last four years the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Differentiating Strategies to bring a series of development briefings for top level leaders in small and medium businesses. We have selected a series of leadership topics we believe will provide value in the current landscape. These will be presented in an accessible down to earth way using language everyone can understand. Each topic will have supporting materials that will allow leaders to begin using what they learned with their teams. When the world is turned upside down, it is easy to forget that the important things are simple but the simple things can be hard.
Session 3: Communication and Conflict
How well is your team communicating? Most teams have evolved a way of communicating that is efficient and effective for normal operations. When the landscape changes our underlying understanding does as well and leaders must be more proactive. It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that providing more information at a greater frequency is communicating. We will cover the points for effective communication and how to avoid the counterfeit of informing without getting to a shared understanding. This is a best practice that can be used with all stakeholders within and outside your organization.
