This is a Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events training session. We will discuss disaster response psychology and how people can improve their chances of surviving during an active threat incident. The session covers some different active threat events and what actions some survivors took to live through the event. Finally we will discuss what people can expect to see from a law enforcement/rescue task force response.
About Matt Ziegler
Training Sergeant, Oshkosh Police Department
The Training Unit is headed by Sergeant Matt Ziegler and is part of the Professional Standards Division within the Administrative Bureau. Sergeant Ziegler is responsible for meeting all of the training needs of the department. This includes the development of training lesson plans, conducting training programs, keeping accurate training records and developing department instructors. The goal of the Training Division is to provide officers with educational opportunities to improve their skills and abilities, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of police services provided to the community.
