BUSINESS BRIEFS

Oshkosh Corporation has announced that Chief Executive Officer Wilson Jones will be retiring after more than 15 years of service with the company. John C. Pfeifer, the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer, has been named Jones’ successor and will serve as President and CEO, effective April 2, 2021.

“It has been a privilege to serve as CEO of this great Company for the last five years,” said Jones. “I am proud of the achievements we have made in our culture, products and services and know they would not have been possible without the collective efforts of our 15,000 dedicated and talented team members around the world. Oshkosh is well positioned for the future, and I believe it is the right time to welcome John Pfeifer as our next CEO.”

This campaign is an extension of the Love Oshkosh campaign, which launched in November. “We launched the #LoveOshkosh $100 Challenge as a way to encourage safe behaviors and promote our local businesses this holiday shopping season,” said Amy Albright, executive director of the Oshkosh Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We want to highlight all the great places to shop locally here in Oshkosh, as well as feature unique gift ideas to inspire shoppers.”

Miron Construction Co., Inc. and Oshkosh Corporation announced that Oshkosh’s new 191,000 square-foot, four-story global headquarters has achieved Fitwel® certification, the first project in Wisconsin to obtain a perfect 3-Star Fitwel Rating. Oshkosh Corporation obtained an exceptional score of 127 points out of 144.

“The people-first culture was placed at the heart of the distinctive approach to create a healthy, high-performing, functional environmental space that demonstrates Oshkosh’s core purpose of making a difference in people’s lives,” said Theresa Lehman, director of sustainable services for Miron Construction Co., Inc.

The facility was completed in September 2019 and was designed by Performa Inc. and built by Miron Construction Co., Inc.

LEADERSHIP OSHKOSH CLASS LEARNS ABOUT GOVERNMENT

Leadership Oshkosh Government Program Day looks a bit different thanks to the masks, social distancing and virtual/in-person experiences on Government Day. But—it shares the same objectives as in previous years: to communicate what our city, county and state government does, and to meet local elected officials, leaders and board members. Special recognition goes to Representative Gordon Hintz, City Council person Mike Ford, City Manager Mark Rohloff, County Executive Mark Harris, County Board Supervisor Joel Rasmussen, OASD School Board Chair Dr. Barbara Herzog, retired City Council and County Board member Stan Kline, and Oshkosh Fire Department Chief Mike Stanley for sharing their knowledge of government.

A mock common council meeting provided first-hand experience and a little fun into the world of how local government works.

Thank you to Amcor for being our Leadership Oshkosh Gold sponsor.
