Youth Leadership Oshkosh
For nearly two decade, Youth Leadership Oshkosh has been giving students from Oshkosh’s four high schools an up-close-and-personal look at the community, its resources, opportunities and challenges.
As the first program of its kind in the state of Wisconsin, Youth Leadership Oshkosh identifies and develops student leaders from area high schools by familiarizing them with community issues, resources and organizations.
- Identify promising student leaders.
- Provide information and education about the community’s opportunities and challenges.
- Build a network between students and an understanding of each other’s concerns.
- Benefit students as they prepare for leadership roles in school and future endeavors.
Youth Leadership Oshkosh brings together students with leadership potential from various high schools in the city in a program that creates awareness of our community, its challenges and potential. These high school juniors from four area schools meet one school day per month from September through April.
Each class completes its Youth Leadership Oshkosh experience with a community service project. Each project is conceptualized and planned by class members. Projects are designed to help improve the community and give students a way to demonstrate leadership while giving back.
