While technology advances at an exponential rate, people are making decisions that stretch beyond what has been created in policy, regulation, and current best practices to protect and care for humanity. Participants in Amplify’s Ethical IT event will come with questions and leave with questions – but will without a doubt, be aware of how to approach technology from an ethical and values mindset.

Amplify Oshkosh Ideas Amplified: Data Ethics
In September, Amplify Oshkosh's Ideas Amplified: Data Ethics event took place,at the Menominee Nation Arena. Attendees had the chance to view the newest Amplify Oshkosh educational video created in collaboration with the Oshkosh Area School District, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and the Menominee Nation Arena. The math oriented video emphasizes the importance of IT careers while guiding students through the process of installing Wi-Fi at the Arena.
Attendees also had the opportunity to learn more about Data Ethics from UW Oshkosh Lecturer, Michael Patton. Amplify Oshkosh would like to thank everyone who joined us at our Ideas Amplified: Data Ethics event as well as the Menominee Nation Arena for hosting. We very much appreciate our event sponsors, Smart IS International, and A.P. Nonweiler Co. for supporting this event.

The following are three exciting projects in the works:
Evco Plastics Expanding Evco Plastics, recently broke ground on a new 31,025 square foot expansion in Oshkosh. which will position the company to meet the increasing demand for large-part molding across a variety of industries and applications. The addition will be operational by January of 2020 and will include a total of over 116,000 square feet when completed.

NEED ASSISTANCE WITH FINANCING? Look No Further than WBD
WBD provides financing for commercial real estate and equipment through a loan program called the 504 loan. Not just any sort of financing, but long-term (up to 25 years) fixed (will not change over the life of the loan) at rates that are tough for banks to offer (loans funded in Sept 2019 – 3.46% for 25 years!).
If you are a business owner, you might be wondering why you have never heard of any of this before, and you would not be alone. For much of our history we spent all of our time and efforts making relationships with all of the commercial lenders, teaching them about how this loan works and counting on them to let us know when a business could benefit from using a 504 loan. After all, in 1981, when a business needed financing they went to the bank, where they found there weren’t many options.

CHAMBER AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Kelly Zanders, EAA Chamber Ambassador since 2017
Why did you choose to become an Ambassador? I love representing Oshkosh. Whether it be attending or volunteering at community events, being an Ambassador helps me make connections with fellow Ambassadors, Chamber members, and local businesses.
What do you enjoy about being an Ambassador? I enjoy the variety of events the Chamber offers and how it is actively involved in our city. It gives Ambassadors the opportunity to be more involved as well and learn more about what's going on in Oshkosh.
What is one interesting fact about you that most people do not know? I’ll give you three!
1. I hold the Certified Festival & Event Executive (CFEE) designation, a certification just over 200 graduates hold in the events industry.
2. I love adventure! Traveling, skydiving, you name it. I can’t sit still!
3. I’m the biggest Brett Favre fan you will ever meet. #4forFavre
