CHAMBER AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Amanda Sobczak Chamber Ambassador since 2017
Why did you choose to become an Ambassador? I knew becoming an Ambassador would allow me a greater opportunity to learn about area businesses and become further connected to the Oshkosh community. It excites me to represent the community that I so greatly enjoy being part of!
What do you enjoy about being an Ambassador? I really enjoy the camaraderie between Chamber members and Ambassadors, as well as being able to represent the Chamber in every way possible.
What is one interesting fact about you that most people do not know? I enjoy cross stitch, crocheting, and other similar activities. I also have a tendency to over organize everything!
AREA STUDENTS EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES AT CAREER EXPLORATION EVENT
|
On October 22, Oshkosh West High School hosted the Career Exploration Showcase for area students. During this one-day event, over 700 eighth grade and 200 high school students from both public and private schools in Oshkosh and Omro learned about different careers, high school courses and post-secondary education opportunities from community representatives.
This year, the Oshkosh Area School District and the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce partnered to welcome over 120 community representatives from 16 different career clusters. The career clusters were representatives from Oshkosh Chamber members, Fox Valley Technical College, UW-Oshkosh, elected representatives, trade unions, City of Oshkosh, Winnebago County, and State of Wisconsin.
This event is made possible thanks to our generous sponsors at the Oshkosh Area School District, Oshkosh West Culinary our Breakfast Sponsor and Nicolet National Bank our Lunch sponsor. Thank you to 4imprint for the donation of backpacks for 1,000 students.
The Oshkosh Chamber is always looking for opportunities for area students in career exploration and school-to-work experiences. Please contact Patti Andresen-Shew at [email protected] for more information.

CHAMBER MEMBERS GIVE YOUR INPUT ON OASD FACILITY NEEDS
The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) is in the process of doing an evaluation of its facilities needs, in anticipation of a potential school district facilities referendum.
The District is reaching out to all property tax payers and asking them to do a community-wide survey.
We would like to give Oshkosh area businesses the opportunity to give input and fill out the survey. This will be the only opportunity for businesses to fill out the survey as they will only be mailed to residences.
Take the Survey Here
Survey information has been mailed to all district households. Please only fill out the survey once. If you receive the survey at your household, but have filled it out as a business you do not need to fill it out again. The survey will be open through November 10, 2019, at 5 p.m.
