Topic: : Breaking Barriers-Leadership in aviation to Leadership in Today's World
In this talk we will discuss how leaders in aviation and space flight gave us a foundation in leadership which are still relevant today. These leaders stood up to the status quo, and broke barriers to help shape the work force of today and the future."
Bio: Chris Henry is a staff member at the Experimental Aircraft Association in Oshkosh, WI. In his role there he works to create special moments for people from all walks of life. He has worked very closely with the B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" Program and has helped give many veterans the chance to become reunited with 'their" airplane once again. Also in this role he is able to show younger generations what those before them experienced. He has played a part in many special events at the EAA Museum in Oshkosh such as the Apollo 13 reunion, Freedom Flight, The Apollo Astronaut Reunion, Space Day, and many others.
Angela Damiani, CEO and co-founder of NEWaukee - 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
Topic: Intersection of People & Place: Innovative Strategies for Talent Attraction and Community Engagement
In this session, attendees will learn creative approaches to rethinking talent attraction, engagement and retention through place-based activations. NEWaukee is a social architecture firm that specializes in community-based signature experiences centered on high-profile issues of importance for the state of Wisconsin. NEWaukee also provides consumer, employer brand and talent engagement services to employers looking to attract and retain talent necessary to grow their businesses.
Bio: Angie plays a large part in coordinating the yearly YPWeek (Young Professionals Week) across Wisconsin. Angie and Jeremy Fojut co-founded NEWaukee in 2009. NEWaukee's programs and initiatives motivate Milwaukeeans to look critically at the city in which they live, to realize its potential and to empower folks to shape a city of which we all want to be a part. Angie and the NEWaukee group teach employers on how to attract and retain young professionals across Wisconsin.
