Amenities
Oshkosh’s greatest asset is the chain of lakes and rivers that surrounds and runs through the city. Oshkosh sits on the western shore of Lake Winnebago, the largest fresh water lake within a U.S. state, and is banked by the Fox River and Lake Butte des Morts. We invite you to explore all Oshkosh has to offer:
- Downtown Oshkosh, a destination for quaint stores, coffee shops, restaurants, the Grand Opera House, art galleries and live music
- University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, a progressive university on the riverfront
- The Outlet Shoppes at Oshkosh, the place to go for brand-name merchandise at great prices
- City parks that feature Pollock Community Water Park and the 110-acre Menominee Park, which has “Little Oshkosh,” one of the largest community-built playgrounds in the nation
- Two Oshkosh YMCA locations. The west-side location, built in 2002, is the only YMCA in the nation to house both an indoor ice arena and indoor soccer complex
- The WIOUWASH Trail, of which more than 14 miles runs from Oshkosh to the Winnebago County line
- The Winnebago County Park, with 270 acres of sporting areas, ponds, shelters and a dog park.
- The Oshkosh Public Library, one of the finest buildings in Wisconsin that houses a rapidly growing collection
- The Water City Chamber Orchestra is considered one of the best in the area with a full season of concerts and support of a Youth Orchestra
- The grandeur of the Grand Opera House, one of the oldest theaters in Wisconsin with a full performance season of national artists and community performances
- Four museums that invite you to explore the past, present and future: the EAA AirVenture Museum, Paine Art Center and Gardens, and Oshkosh Public Museum.
We’re even conveniently located between a variety of attractive destinations in eastern Wisconsin, for those times when you might want a change of pace.
