Highway 41 Expansion
Highway 41 is a major transportation corridor linking Northeast Wisconsin.  In
Winnebago County, it serves economic development in Oshkosh and Neenah and is the only high-speed route crossing Lake Butte des Morts.  But, the highway has many deficiencies.  Namely, the highway was designed for rural traffic volumes, not the high volume of urban traffic.  To address this issue, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is planning to expand the highway from four to six lanes between Highway 26 in Oshkosh to Breezewood Lane in Neenah.  The project also will:

  • Upgrade seven interchanges along the route
  • Lengthen on-ramps
  • Provide bicycle/pedestrian facilities

The Department of Transportation has developed an
